The Steel Valley Partnership and the regeneration of Stocksbridge
Over the past decade the regeneration of Stocksbridge has got underway. The work of the Steel Valley Partnership in enhancing the quality of the visual environment and developing the biodiversity potential of the district has been a significant part of this.
The regeneration has involved community building, skills enhancement as well as the attraction of new business. Much of the work that has happened on the ground has been brought about by the efforts of the Stocksbridge Training and Enterprise Partnership (STEP).
Sheffield MDC and other public agencies have been successful in helping the local community attract funds to enhance the quality of life as well as the social and economic sustainability of the district.
